First the practical stuff!

Each cabin has a large living/dining area w/ stone fireplace, TV, Wi-Fi. The kitchens have 2 full ranges, 2 refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, coffee makers, cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, and tables for up to 50 people. The cabins share outdoor picnic areas and a sand volleyball court.

There is also a camp ground w/in the park as well as yurts and smaller cabins.

Catering is available as well as BBQ, summer cookouts, boxed meals, fruit baskets, refreshments & snacks. AND of course there's the big well equipped kitchens! There’s also Buckboard Grill and Grocery available in the administration building (snacks, sandwiches, and some groceries)

Now the fun stuff!
·         So much! I hope you will browse the web site http://snowmountainranch.org/
but here are a few highlights:
·         Free activities: basketball, billiards, football, 25 yard heated indoor pool (w/ adult lap time, sauna, aquatic climbing wall, indoor roller rink, table tennis, zip line, volleyball, hiking horseshoes, miniature golf, playgrounds, miles of beautiful trails and more!
·         Other activities available for a fee:
Horseback riding, canoeing, craft shop, climbing wall, mountain biking, white water rafting and
more!

·         The town of Winter Park is 12 miles south and Gramby and Grandlake are within 20 miles of the ranch.  There is a large grocery store in Winter Park.

·         WEATHER: Winter Park’s summers are almost perfect: Not too hot, but just right. Most days are filled with sunshine, with some afternoons bringing clouds and possible rainstorms. Evenings are usually clear and cool. The average highs are 70-80 degrees.

·         One of the main advantages to this facility is that it's just about equally accessible to most of us. It's a reasonable drive for many or you can fly into Denver & then rent a car for the 2 hour drive to the ranch.

Meal service costs:
   $7.88 breakfast

   $12.05 dinner
(The above 2014 room prices will probably increase each year there after by 3% and the meal  prices will also increase a little).
We will have a large common area to gather.

Now the fun stuff!
We've been to WWU twice before so many of you know the conveniences & benefits of this facility:
·         It's a beautiful campus! And it's grown and improved since we were last there.
·         There is an amazing new recreation area w/ a large swimming pool, weights, indoor track, basketball courts, hot tub, and rock climbing wall available to guests for $7 a day. There are also tennis courts and field space.
·         And that's just the university amenities!
·         Bellingham has the bay, the harbor, ferries, lakes, parks, trails and creeks just minutes away.
·         Historic Fairhaven and the quaint downtown area offer unique shopping, museums, restaurants and pubs.
·         AND there's Mt. Baker with Artist's Point, and so many amazing hiking trails!
·         You can fly into Bellingham Airport and be at the university in 15 minutes or fly into the Vancouver BC Airport with an hour drive to Bellingham (or perhaps a fun stop in the international city of Vancouver) OR fly into Seattle and be in Bellingham 2 hours later.
·         Lovely daytime temperatures of 70 -80 degrees with perhaps occasional light rain to make sure we stay beautifully green!
·         Possible picnic/BBQ music and outdoor fun across the street from Lake Padden, hosted by the Youngs.
·         It’s time for a reunion in the region where the majority of our family members live!

Enjoy the beauty of nature, friendly Texas hospitality, delicious food, and
all the things that Keep Austin Weird! At the reunion, you can just chill by
the pool at the comfy vacation rental (reunion central) or explore Austin.

Suggested dates: 28-31 July 2016

We also have friends with spare bedrooms available. Hotels are an option, too. Food: breakfasts and dinners will be planned. Local cuisine will be featured. Everyone is on his/her own for lunches. Let the reunion planners know about any food preferences or allergies.

Transportation: Public transportation is pretty good (capmetro.org). Each family may wish to rent a car or double up and share. Barton Springs, local shops and cafés, parks are a nice walk or very quick drive.

Weather: highs in the upper 90sF (36C), lows in the mid 70sF (24C), some humidity, occasional thunderstorms and lots of sun. Pretty much everywhere has A/C. A dip in the pool is a great way to cool off. Staying hydrated is critically important for health and comfort.
